Woyww sewing up a storm.

Well I have been a little busy over the last 3 weeks. Too busy to get onto my blog and give any sort of update. I have almost completed peeling wallpaper off of one wall in my bedroom, made a dress for my daughter, been to the markets again and been contending with the latest acquisition, a circuit machine.
SO I thought I would show you a little of all the things I have been doing

These are the 2 dresses I have made. The one on the left is for my Daughter and the one on the right is a Christmas Present for my Niece
My Kids were given a Gingerbread House kit by their Grand parents. We had a great time putting it together.

Cricut Fun: I have made this lovely piece of wall art for my craft room.  The card is one of 3 I made for my Son's Teachers.

The bloke on the left here is my ever diligent husband. We have just knocked down the bar wall, so that we can open up the living room a little more. Next month it will be getting a lick of paint and soon after some new flooring. Then I will be on the hunt for new lighting for the area. I can't wait to see this room fully transformed :)

Now to my desk What is on it this week are a couple of things. A quilt that I am slowly putting together and a  children's dress pattern that I am tracing onto paper, so that I can use all the sizes without destroying the pattern in the process

WOYWW 127 what's coming off my walls!

I have an eventful week this week. Our market day was very quiet, due to the rain that kept threatening to wash us out. I have since been back in the craft room creating framed artwork to go to the craft fair next week. But you will have to wait to see these :)

Nope, today you get to see my walls in my bedroom. I have spent this afternoon in my bedroom removing the offending wallpaper off of my walls.
So I feel like today is "what's off your wall Wednesday!" I am going to be painting my room to fit in with our new bedspread. Nice soft subtle colours that fit in with the French provincial style that I am styling the rest of my home with.

Washing, folding, finding time for me.

Today was one of those days that I just had to push through. After a rather wet market yesterday, I had visitors last night for a house warming. I am so grateful to my hubby, who kindly cleaned my kitchen and cooked the BBQ.
I think I had 5 loads of washing to deal with today. Rather bad for me, as I normally have only one or 2 to deal with. I had let it pile up in the last few days, with the markets being my focus.
Tonight I managed to piece my craft room back together after taking the table to the markets. This gave me a great opportunity to sit down and listen to one of my favourite ministers and start work on a few images for the craft fair that is coming up in 2 weeks.
Here is the work that I got done once the kids were in bed.

A productive evening

Wow what an evening! Tash and I got into the craft room and created some absolute beauties. It is so hard to pick a favourite. I am really enjoying being restricted by the lack of stuff in the craft room at the moment. I am having to be inventive and that has been so much fun tonight.

I have to also mention that I got inspired tonight, I watched a couple of tutorials on splitcoast stampers. I think that this really helped with the mojo ;)

I thought you may like to meet Tash. She is my partner in crime... In the craft room.

WOYWW 126 settling in

Following last week, this is what my friend Tash and I made with all of those lovely images. We have the markets on this weekend and our first major craft fair in 2 weeks after that.

The desk has little more on this week, but I am slowly sorting through my stash of stuff and finding homes for things.

Tonight I will be working on these little beauties. Not entirely sure what to do with them. I am just hoping that my mojo returns quickly, as I have stinking headache from the heat we had today.

Progress in the craft room

I was asked by one of the lovely ladies in the international desk hop if I could show more of my room. It is currently missing a lot of my stash, as my girlfriend and have been doing all our work on her kitchen table. It will slowly move it's way to my room over the next few weeks.
So here is my room as it stands currently.

I have a lot of work to do, in order to get it fully functional but I am looking forward to it.

Oh and the picture hanging on the wall behind my computer is a sample of the sort of work I do for a living. It took me 12 months to finish it, as I was always too busy making pieces for other people lol.

What's on your work desk Wednesday 125

I thought I would take part in a little but of fun this week. I have now got the basics of my craft room set up and have been able to get some work done.

I think this little guy is from greeting farm. I am doing a series of cards for my monthly craft stall in Kalamunda, Western Australia

A trip to the dentist

Archer had his first dentist checkup yesterday. I was amazed a how well he did, considering how unpredictable he can be with new and strange sensations. The dental nurse was fantastic and was completely ready for anything. However, Archer took it all in his stride. He giggled a little when the nurse was checking his teeth for carries. It must have felt funny.
On the positive side, he has perfect teeth. I had to laugh, as we haven't been able to clean his teeth until recently and for most of the time, we use fluoride free toothpaste. I felt like giving myself a high 5 as I don't think our kids need all the fluoride that is in the water, plus toothpaste.

The new craft room

Well the move has been and gone. Thought I would show you the very first photo of my new craft room.
My old dining table is now my craft table. I have reduced the size of my office desk. I am hoping this will help me to keep clutter off of it. I am planning to put up some shelving and a rack or two to store my punches etc. I hope this new space will inspire me to get out the sewing machine again too.

27 fling boogie.

I made the decision today that my desk needs to be cleared. This seems to be a regular occurrence, but it gets easier each time. I will show you how I do it.

I start with my tools. For my office I use 2 trays and a rubbish bag. One tray is for put away/filing, the other is for shredding and the bag is for rubbish. The aim is for improvement, not perfection.

I then find 27 items to be filed/put away, 27 for the bin and 27 to be shredded. The last one for me has been a recent revelation. I used to hoard lots of paper, because I thought it needed it all and the thought of sorting through it was too much for me. When I discovered Flylady, I discovered how easy it can be..... And fun!

The most important part is that when you have sorted the area and got each of your 27 items, you have to throw the rubbish immediately, file the filing/ put away items and shred the shredding. Otherwise you will never really declutter the offending area.

As you can see, my desk isn't perfect. However, I know that I can find everything I need and it will make really easy to pack later this week. Hope you have been inspired. Have a great day!

The innocence of a child

I had a fantastic "Mum and Son" day today.  I love it when we get to have time together, as is a rare thing for us to have a day of just us. Between buying new school shoes and getting his hair cut, he is feeling like a prince at the moment.
This afternoon, we went to do the grocery shopping. My awesome boy thought that everything I said or did was worthy a gut busting laugh. I haven't had so much fun with him in ages. The best part of it was, that when we got home he happily amused himself with educational entertainment. He didn't get off of the computer for over an hour, but he was the happiest I have seen him in ages.

A day at the park.

We had a get together at faulkner park today, with WA Special Families. The kids had a blast and I got to meet some parents with similar situations. I really enjoyed getting to meet some like minded parents. It was a great break from all of the packing and phone calls for the new house.

Journey to our new life.

My family has just bought our first home. All the excitement had been a little overwhelming. My ds Archer, must have thought it a wonderland, as he ran around checking it all out. We are all looking forward to the move. I am especially looking forward to having a designated work space for my craft activities.

Getting Back in the swing of it all

I had a blog years ago. I let it go by the way side. So much so, that I can't even remember what it is called LOL.
So now I am determined to get back into it. My goal is to show you what I am making, how I am decluttering and streamlining my home and give you an insight into my life with 2 wonderful kids.
